Married to Laura Jane (Rosner) Dooman on June 13, 1983 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
A lifelong artist, Charles created art in almost every medium; from charcoals and pastels, to sculpture, silkscreens, block prints and watercolors. Since 1990, he turned his creative attention exclusively toward the full-time production of automotive art. Working with acrylics on canvas, he strived to emphasize the beautifully abstract, yet graphic imagery that can be found only when one takes the micro-view deep into the soul of an automobile.
Charles was a lover of life, a devoted husband and father, and everybody's best friend. He spent many years traveling for fine automotive/art shows showcasing his artwork, taking road trips with family and friends, attending concerts, festivals, and Formula 1 racing events, and he was an active member of the Wichita Region Porsche Club of America with whom he shared the joy of his Viper Green 1976 914.
He is preceded in death by his mother Joyce M. (Holliday) Dooman and father James Dooman, aunt Julia Dooman, and grandmothers Lily A. Dooman, and Frances Holliday.
He is survived by his wife Laura and daughters Jeanne Kathryne Dooman and Lily Frances Dooman; granddaughters Chloe Roxanne Miller and Ella Kathryne Windler; siblings John, David, Cynthia, Robert and Susan.
Memorial and celebration of life will be postponed until early spring 2026 and announced formally by the family. All are welcome.
