

Langhofer, Charles A. (Al) while surrounded by friends & family, entered into eternal rest on June 24th, 2011. He was born on September 10th, 1920 to Jesse and Rosalie Langhofer in Woodbine, KS. Al was a WWII veteran & served his country in the Pacific with two of his brothers. Al’s love of country prompted him to be active in the Republican Party. Al was a pastor at the Apostolic Christian Church. He served on the board of directors of the Apostolic Christian Church Retirement Center, and the board of directors for the Union Rescue Mission. He was the owner of C.A. Langhofer & Associates Insurance Agency for 40 years. Al is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irene (Judy) of Wichita, seven children: Stephen (Jeannie) Wichita, Dr. Martin (Lavilla) South Bend, IN, Jocelyn Payton (Richard/Deceased)South Bend IN, Erik (Cynthia) Phoenix, AZ, Mary Stoller (Bruce) Princeville, IL, Melinda Giltner (Rocky) Bluffton, IN, Robert (Misti) Goddard, KS, a sister, Selena Lay of Topeka, KS, twenty-nine grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of friends and associates. Visitation will be held Monday, June 27th at the Apostolic Christian Church located at 1202 Lulu. Family will be welcomed from 4 PM to 6 PM and visitors and friends will be welcomed from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the Westside Freewill Baptist Church, 3310 MacArthur Rd. 10 AM, Tuesday, June 28 with interment following at Resthaven Cemetery, 11800 West Kellogg. A memorial has been established in his name with The Union Rescue Mission.
