Cherilyn "Bonnie" Stilley, age 78, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022. Bonnie was born January 1, 1944 to Johnnie and Margaret M. (Buck) Helfer in Wichita, Kansas. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed by many.
Bonnie moved to California as a young girl and graduated from San Jose High School. She would spend her summers in Wichita, Kansas with her grandparents, Mary L. (Kelly) and Azro A. Buck. In 1966 she married, Richard Stilley in California. He passed away April, 18th 2008. Some of Bonnie’s favorite activities included crochet, drawing, painting, ceramics, playing games, sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Wichita Quilt Guild. She made and donated many quilts and pillowcases to the Women’s Crisis Center and Project Linus Program. She enjoyed her travels to Wisconsin with her husband for family reunions. Bonnie worked in an Electronic Plant in California until moving to Kansas in 1971. While in Kansas, she worked as a bartender at the Quarter Horse for many years and retired in 2006 as a cashier from Food 4 Less.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Stilley; brother, Glenn K. Helfer; and granddaughter, Jennifer S. Stilley.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Shaun (Jim) Clark and Candy (Joe) Plume; son, Richard (Jenny) Stilley; sister, Charla (Eric) John; grandchildren, Aaron Clark, Michael Clark, Jamie Clark, April Clark, Jamie Grey, Bretton Bowman, Jayden Stilley, Piper Stilley; great-grandchildren, Bailey Bevan, Mason Clark, Everest Clark, Derek Eagle, Aubree Clark, Riley Clark, Brynlee Clark, Landon Weber, Averi Weber, Janaeh Bonsal, Shaqur Davis, Roman Davis, Marshell Davis; and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th Street N., Wichita, Kansas 67206. Per the families request, service for Bonnie will be livestreamed from Lakeview Funeral Home & Lakeview Cemetery Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/101635589929917 for those who are unable to attend in person.
