Wichita, Ks - SSgt. Clark Dean Long, Sr. went the way of all flesh on Sunday, May 15th. The tenacious struggle was unknown to all except those who were closest to Clark - both in proximity as well as spiritual synchronicity. What was known to most, however, was an everpresent example of a shining stalwart who was not only `One of the Few... the Proud` - but who was also the finest friend, the most benevolent brother, and the dearest of dads that the Lord imbued with His Holy Spirit to affect positive change in this world. Clark was born in Omaha, NE on March 17th, 1949, and spent the majority of his life there until moving to Wichita, Kansas, three years ago to be with his son and grandson. He graduated from Tech High School in Omaha in 1967, then entered the United States Marine Corps in August of 1969. In addition to being a rifle expert, Clark was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and other meritorious honors. Clark will forever be loved by those of us that he left behind. He is survived by his daughter Shawneewa (Monica) Danielle McLucas, and granddaughters Xennya Janae Fennoy, Jasmine Ashanti Hines, and Morgan-Amber Elise Hicklin; his son, Clark Dean Long, Jr., and grandson Caden Clark Long; and his two sisters Mary Ann Robb and Sheila Long. Clark was preceded in death by his beloved brother `Bobby` Long, Sr., and his twin sister Carol Long. He will also be missed by a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and a host of friends that he touched in this lifetime. We will all be at a loss for the joy, comeraderie, and wisdom that he brought into our lives, and I couldn't be more proud of him. It is with extreme love, respect, and happiness that I state that my Dad made a lasting impression on everyone he met with his charm, laughter, and charisma... which was only surpassed by the size of his heart. His energy, kindness, and zest for life are what we, his family and friends will remember most. Memorial Service will be held at Resthaven Mortuary, located at West, 11800 US-54 Wichita, KS 67209, @ 10am, Friday May 27th, 2016.
