Curtis Richard Auten, 90, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away May 27, 2017. Curtis was born to James and Beulah Auten March 17, 1927 in McHue, Arkansas. He served his country as a United States WWII Navy Veteran. He was also a driver and mechanic for the Metropolitan Transit Authority, retiring after 30 years, and a member of the Teamsters Labor Union. Curtis is survived by his wife of 68+ years, Audrie; sons, Dwight (Pat), Richard (Sharmon), and Gene (Grace); daughter, Kelly Ward; grandchildren, Christine (Scott) Garton, Karen (Eric) Maynor, Bryan (Susan) Auten, Jessica Jensen, Rebecca Auten, Robert (Amy) Auten, Michael Ward and Daniel (Meghan) Ward; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and sister, Ollie Evans. He is preceded in death by parents; siblings, Betty Milligan, Maude Nash, James, Frank, and George Auten; and great-granddaughter, Megan Garton. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, June 1, 2017 with visitation Wednesday May, 31 from 6-8 pm both at Resthaven Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice 313 S.
