D. Maxine Abercrombie

D. Maxine Abercrombie, 72, retired Supervisor for L&S Machine, passed away September 1, 2018. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Berhl E. Abercrombie; parents, Meriel and Henrietta Phillips and sisters, Barbara and Millie . She is survived by daughters, Tane (Michael) Height and Tammy (Dan) Dorzweiler; son, John M. Barnette, sister, Linda; numerous grand and great grandchildren; and her closest and best friend, Pat Bradley. Before her husbands passing she and Berhl were inseparable. They were contented to spending time with each other. Whether working in the yard or restoring furniture, they did it all together. Maxine was a one of a kind. She was bold, independent, and had an old soul. She loved quilting, gardening vegetables and flowers, and loved watching and listening to birds. No matter the time or distance she had with her family, she had a big heart and welcomed them into her fold. She will be dearly missed. Her celebration of life service will be held 10 a.m. Wed. Sept. 5, 2018, at Resthaven Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
