Darrell DuWayne Baughman

Darrell DuWayne Baughman, age 76, of Mission, Texas passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023. DuWayne was born August 15, 1946 in Eureka, Kansas to Betty Lou Poteete-Sanger and Darrell Eugene Baughman.

DuWayne lived in Wichita, Kansas where he grew up and then in Libertyville, Illinois where he and his wife, Betty, raised their son Mark.

DuWayne proudly and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps.

DuWayne enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, going to the shooting range, being with friends, and complaining about politics. He was an active board member in his neighborhood HOA. He also enjoyed taking day trips to Mexico with his friends.

DuWayne is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Ann Johnson-Baughman; son Mark Allen Baughman (Darla Galene Mitchem Baughman); grandchildren Alexis Ryan Baughman and Brandon Tyler Baughman; and siblings Dennis Baughman, Linda Simmons, Teresa Mitchell (Mark), Debbie Book (Grant), Dolores Valenzuela (Oscar), Diane Hamel (Jason), Denise Griffin (Jeff), Donna Dobratz (Bill), Danita Lewis (Mark), and Derek Baughman (Tina).

DuWayne was preceded in death by his father Darrell Eugene Baughman; mother Betty Lou Poteete-Sanger; step-father Wendell Sanger; brother Daniel Alan Baughman; and brother-in-law Harold Simmons.

A visitation for DuWayne will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E 13TH ST N, Wichita, KS 67206. A Celebration of Life service will occur Friday, April 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home.
