David Allen Ahre

David is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steven D. Ahre. He is survived by his sister, Susan (Roger) Halleckson, and 8 first cousins and numerous second cousins.

David was developmentally disabled. He received services at Starkey, Inc. for 38 years and had lived in three different group homes. The last group home was designed for those who also have dementia. We are so grateful for the care that David received at Starkey, and for the friendships that we developed with Starkey employees.

He leaves us with so many happy memories of the good times we had together. He loved to use big words, to go out to eat, and had a fascination with watches and belts. His life inspired us to value patience, compassion and the enjoyment of the simple things in life. We will remember him as a kind, humorous and loving person.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be given to Starkey, INC., 4500 W. Maple, Wichita, KS, 67207, or to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1101 N. River Blvd, Wichita, KS, 67203
