Dean O. Mason

Dean O. Mason, DDS, age 98, of Wichita, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Dean graduated from East High School in 1945 and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following his service, he attended Kansas State University, graduating in 1952. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Corlie O. Sanders, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted until her passing.

Before pursuing dentistry, Dean worked at Boeing for nine years. He later followed his calling into the dental profession, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1969. Dean went on to practice dentistry in Wichita for 35 years, providing compassionate, dedicated care to generations of patients.

Dean was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Corlie; his mother, Bess; father, Claude; step‑father, Raymond Giffin; and sister, Marian.

He is survived by his sons, Mark (Kathy) of Leawood and Ted (Laurie) of Wichita; grandchildren, Tiffany Cohlmia, Katie Yost, Zack, Luke, and Molly Mason; step‑grandchildren, Thomas, Stephanie, and Nicole Ford; and nine great‑grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, with visitation beginning one hour prior, at University Congregational Church, 9209 East 29th Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67226. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, 12100 East 13th Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67206.
