She was born to the late, Wanda Louise (Deniston) and Floyd Young on July 21, 1940, in Wichita and was sister to, Bonnie, Margie, and Bill.
Deloris gained her gift of caring for others when young and that spread to the many friends she’d made from her earliest years up to graduation from West High School and there was one person in particular who was truly grateful for who she was and that would be, Jerry Leon Crandall. To whom she’d marry on May 12, 1962, at her parent’s home. To this union, they’d be blessed with a daughter they named Patricia or who they called, Trish.
For 50 years, Deloris was nurse’s assistant in pediatrics at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was also an ambassador of the hospital. A title she carried proudly. After retiring, to keep busy, she worked at Hometown Buffet and really dove into sewing pillows for cancer patients, volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House at Wesley, enjoyed every minute with her family and cherished time with here dog, a Papillion named Candy and grand dogs: Willow, Indiana, and Frank.
A kind and quiet soul, loved by her family and any patient she ever met.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Patricia (Trish) Felt of Wichita; sisters, Bonnie Carlson and Margie Meyer, both of Wichita; brother, Bill Young of Dallas; and sister-in-law, Donna Young of Dallas, Texas.
Rejoicing with those gone before, Deloris is reunited with her parents, husband, and son-in-law, Michael A. Felt.
A visitation for Deloris will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary and interment to follow in the Garden of Freedom. All at Resthaven Mortuary and Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
