Dennis Hofmeier

Dennis Hofmeier, 69, of Salina, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family February 15, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 10, 1955 in Junction City, KS, the son of Vaughn and Barbara (Reed) Hofmeier.

He was united in marriage to Jamie Troutman on October 18, 1980 in Salina, KS. and two daughters, Kylee and Kate were born. Dennis graduated from Southeast of Saline High School in 1973 and continued his education at Kansas State University. He received his BS in business administration in 1977. He was a retired corporate accountant working for numerous corporations over his career.

As a lifelong sports fan, Dennis was a proud K-State football season ticket holder, fanatic of the St. Louis Cardinals, and score keeper for Southeast of Saline athletics. He loved to attend his grandson’s sporting events and concerts as well.

Dennis was a devoted member of the Mentor United Methodist Church. He was a proud member of the Kansas State Alumni Association and the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. “Hooter” loved each and every one of his fraternity brothers.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Jamie (Troutman) Hofmeier of the home, his children, Kate and TJ Soto of Monument, CO and Kylee and Chris Comeau of Salina, KS, and his 4 grandsons, Kaiden, Kort, Cooper, and Gavin. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Hofmeier of Salina, and his siblings Gary Hofmeier (Pam), Larry Hofmeier (Cathy), Shari Salazar (Phil) and Connie Hofmeier; as well as 22 nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Cremation has been chosen and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at 1:30 pm at Mentor United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Mentor United Methodist Church, 616 E, Mentor Rd, Mentor, KS 67416. In honor of Dennis’ love of sports, the family encourages those in attendance to wear their K-State Purple or St. Louis Cardinal Red.
