AVIS DE DÉCÈS
3 septembre 1968 – 4 septembre 2020
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, and Aunt passed peacefully on Friday, September 4th. She was born in DuQuoin, IL into the family that included parents Don and Dorthy Williams and “bubby” Dan. She moved to Wichita with her family as a child and graduated from Wichita North High School in 1987. While a student, her baking skills helped her brother start his first foray into entrepreneurial endeavors. This quickly ended when she found out he wasn’t sharing the profits with her. Still, she continued her culinary practice and, according to her nieces and nephews, made the best monster cookies ever.
Donna worked as a CNA and Activity Director in nursing homes in and around Wichita. After which, she spent her career working as a source inspector of aviation parts in machine shops. Donna loved her family, the outdoors, gardening, waterskiing, spending time at the lake, Bunko nights, and her grandchildren. She was a lover of nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors and raising dogs, cats, chickens, horses, and a cadre of other animals. She also enjoyed muscle cars and her treat to herself was a Camaro in her favorite shade of green.
Still, her favorite thing in life was her family, and spending time with them. She cared deeply for her son and her grandchildren, as well as her many nieces and nephews and other extended family, treating them as her own.
Donna’s funeral will be on Tuesday, September 15th at 3:00pm at Resthaven Cemetery on W. Kellogg in Wichita. It will be held at the graveside in order to accommodate for social distancing. A celebration of life gathering will take place on September 19th from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm in Sycamore Park on 15th Street, just east of West Street.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Donna's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Stephen and Linda Gosche

The Stephen Gosche family and Donna’s family have been friends for over fifty years. We met in 1969 in DuQuoin, Illinois, where Donna’s dad and Stephen worked together. Donna was one, and her brother, Dan, was three. The bond of friendship and extended
families was forged that summer.
Donna’s mom, Dorthy, and I decided that we would help raise each other’s children—that is when we had some. In the interim Donna and her family moved to Wichita, Kansas. In 1971 the Gosches moved to Wichita and in 1974 we had our first daughter, Leah. Donna helped entertain her on our excursions to Cheney Lake. And so it has been—sharing the highs, the lows, and the blessings over the past fifty years. ❤️ Stephen, Linda, Leah, Trisha, Lauren
