Dorothy Ann (Jacobson) Davis

Dottie was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on May 26, 1941 to Evar Axel and Winifred

(Hopper) Jacobson. Dot was most passionate about her faith and Bible study. She loved going to

church every week and loved the people there. Dorothy was a registered nurse and spent much of

her time being a caregiver to the sick, her friends and her loved ones. Over the years, she

mastered the art of praying for the ill. In fact, she prayed for over 100 people daily.

Dorothy also enjoyed researching family genealogy and photography. There were two commonly

heard phrases at every family gathering when she had a camera in her hand—“Can you do that

again?” and “Now—look natural!” Dot also loved to travel; she went to Ireland, England,

Australia, Canada, and most of the United States. She was also an avid experimenter with

cooking; she enjoyed learning about natural foods, new cooking techniques, and health through

nutrition.

Grandma Dot or Aunt Dottie loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a child at heart and cherished her time with them most—enjoying the

occasional tea party or puppet show, encouraging her family members to join her whenever

possible. She was also an avid game player; in fact, games were a serious sport. She especially

enjoyed playing cribbage and when she couldn’t talk others into a game, she played solo (and to

her credit, she only lost once). Speaking of sports, she generally didn't like them, but if her

children or grandchildren were involved, then she was the loudest one to root for them at games.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Evar and Winifred Jacobson; her two brothers,

Bradden and Harry Jacobson; and her daughter, Suzanne Blanchat.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Max Davis; her son, Timothy (Jeanice) Davis;

and her grandchildren, Bryan Blanchat, Bethia (Joel) Driver, Tim “TJ” Davis, Alayna (Callum)

Wood, Chelsea (Bryt-Lee) Dowler, Derek Blanchat, Carleigh Blanchat; and her greatgrandchildren, Henry and Thomas Wood, and Addalyn, Mayleigh, and Caela Driver.
