

Douglas Scott, age 68, passed away on July 12, 2014 at Robert Dole V.A. Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born in Monterey, California on May 5, 1946. Doug grew up in Cave Springs/Elm Springs area and graduated from Springdale High School. After graduation he moved to Wichita and was employed by Beech Aircraft Co. After a year’s service, he was drafted by the military; serving three years in the Army. He was a Vietnam veteran, honorably discharged. He then returned to Beech Aircraft, where he worked until he retired. He was an avid Razorback fan and was loved by many people and his beloved pets. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Dolly and Glenn Scott and sister-in-law Linda Scott. He is survived by one sister, Coelene, of Elm Springs; six brothers, Glenn (Scottie) and wife Joyce of Elm Springs, Dwain and wife Kay of Elm Springs, Gene and wife Sherry of Siloam Springs, Lee and wife Evelyn of Elm Springs, Monte of Elm Springs, and Kelly of China; and by many nephews and nieces, of whom he was very proud. Visitation will be held Thurs. July 17, 2014 from 6 to 8pm at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 East 13th St., Wichita. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Elm Springs Assembly of God, officiated by Pastor Glynn Trusty. Burial with military honors will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews Alton Scott, Tim Scott, Shannon Scott, Jason Scott, Aaron Scott, and Justin Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews SMSgt. Coben Scott, Brooke Scott, Kyle Scott, and Dallas Scott.
