

Dwayne Wesley Evers, a beloved husband, father, and Papa, passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on March 21, 1962, in LaChapelle-Saint-Mesmin, France.
Dwayne led a life full of dedication to his family, friends, career, and community.
Dwayne graduated from North High School and went on to achieve his master's license in plumbing and electrical. He retired from Spirit Aerosystems, where he worked in mechanical utilities and was a proud member of the IAM Union. Dwayne used his expertise in building controls and heating and air.
On May 4, 1985, Dwayne married Lorie Mae Brooks in Wichita, Kansas, after meeting her while working in Chanute, Kansas. Together, they built a loving family.
Dwayne found joy as a long-time member of Riverlawn Christian Church, where he attended Sunday school classes. He also attended services at The River with his grandchildren and children. His faith and community were important aspects of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Evers, grandfather, Arlo Evers, grandmother, Loretta Evers, mother in law Bonnie M. Dixon, father in law Joe D. Brooks, cousin Heath Laetari and his brother, Richard D. Ollek.
Dwayne is survived by his wife, Lorie Mae Evers; his son, Nathaniel D. Evers (Mickenzi); and his daughter, Scottlyn M. Winegar (Daniel). He was a devoted Papa to Kirra, Jace, Ashley, Hailey, Asher, Derrick, Isaiah, Anistyn, Calley, and Riley and loved his many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his mother, older brother and younger sister. He lived his life loving and caring for his children and grandchildren.
Dwayne's legacy of love, dedication, and faith will be cherished by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Resthaven Mortuary, located at 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS, 67209, on December 19, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on December 20, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.
