Edward M Gathers Jr. 55 passed away July 23, 2013. He was born in Fort Chaffee Arkansas to Edward Sr. and Lynn Dita (Payne) Gathers on December 12, 1957. Ed worked as a sheet metal mechanic. His true passion in life was being a funny, loving PaPa to his 6 grandchildren. Ed coached for several years different hockey teams including his son’s teams. He loved to tell a funny joke or make his family laugh. Ed is preceded in death by his father. Survived by his mother; Lynn Dita Jones, wife of 34 years Renea Gathers, sons; Ron, Justin (Lindsay), Eric Gathers, brothers; Terry (Sherwana) Gathers, Earl (Melissa) Gathers, sisters; Deborah Smith, Lynda (Mike) Allen, 6 grandchildren, Hunter Gathers, Melissa Schwind, Mackenzie Gathers, Chloe Gathers, Jocelyn Gathers, Karsyn Gathers. Memorial Service 2:00p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 at Hillside Funeral Home East. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to America Heart Association.
