Elizabeth Frances Buckner

Buckner, Elizabeth Frances, 83, passed away July 31, 2018. Elizabeth was an in-home childcare provider extraordinaire who specialized in assisting families with infant twins, triplets and quadruplets. Her role as an in-home childcare provider was not only a passion for her but a blessing to many. She also worked for a time as a CNA, and foster grandparent teacher’s aide. She had a nurturing and caring personality and was a mother and grandmother to hundreds.

Elizabeth's true passion was her passion for the Lord. She attended the Free Methodist Church, Tabernacle Baptist Church, and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Her faith provided a firm foundation for her children that spanned generations and inspired them to live good and godly lives. She was a loving and dear woman to all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, John William Buckner, Sr., son-in-law, Timothy H. Dixon, Sr, and her parents, Willie Curtis and Mary Sevier. She is survived by her sons, John William (Cindy) Buckner, Jr., Merwin Buckner; daughters, Sandra Dixon and Loretta Buckner; grandchildren, J. Tod (Carri) Buckner, Jason (Chandra) Buckner, Angela (Delano) Hill, Sr., Derrick (Mary) Davis and Terrance (Helen) Underwood, step grandsons, Timothy (Valorie) Dixon Jr., Bryson Dixon, step granddaughter LeEtta (Jeff) Pate; great grandchildren, Robert (Gabrielle Corum), Nicholas (Tia), Jordan, Kyle, Aliano Terrell, Aliyus, Trinity, Brianna, Destanni, Caden, Mia, Delanni, Jaylynn, Delano Jr. and Mika; and great great grandchildren, Warren James and Wyatt Anthony, Paityn and Emersyn; step great grandchildren, Emily and Augie, Tionna, Madilyn, Colton, Wyatt and Charlotte; and step great great grandchild Azayla.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 10 from 6-8 PM and celebration of life service on Saturday, August 11 at 1:00 PM, both at Resthaven Mortuary.
