Elizabeth Ruth Heinemann

Heinemann (Hirleman), Elizabeth (Betty) R., 88, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014. She was born on December 1, 1925 in Wichita, KS, daughter of the late John E. and Ruby Hirleman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Heinemann, her brothers, John Hirleman and Edwin Hirleman, and her sister, Marjorie Sullivan. Betty was a life-long resident of Wichita, KS, a graduate of Wichita North High School and a graduate of Kansas University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She was also a long-time member of AAUW Domesticats and PEO. Betty worked at the Coleman Company prior to starting her family. She was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was also a faithful volunteer for many years with Meals on Wheels of Wichita. Betty is survived by 2 daughters: Lisa Becker (Larry) of Wichita; Amy Laws (Cord) of Kansas City. She is also survived by three beloved grandchildren: Nick Becker (Wichita), Lauren Fahey (currently living in Japan), and Lucas Laws (Kansas City) and three great-grandchildren. Betty’s grandchildren were the joy of her life. There will be a graveside service on Monday, October 13, 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, Kansas. Memorials may be given to Trinity Presbyterian Church or to Wichita Meals on Wheels.
