

Elizabeth "Ann" Vaughan, 87, longtime resident of Wichita, KS, went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2018. Ann was born April 24, 1930, at the family farm near Grenola, KS, to William and Leah (Wells) Eastman. She has two surviving brothers, Bill (Beaulah) Eastman of Wichita, and Mick (Marcita) Eastman of Sacramento, CA. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Bill/Leah Eastman, sister Jeannette June (stillborn), brothers Bob (Jeanne) Eastman, Dick (Marge) Eastman, Jim (Carolyn) Eastman, and granddaughter, Tiffany Vaughan. Ann graduated from Grenola High School. She participated in basketball and cheerleading. While husband, Vic, Sr. fought in the Korean Conflict, Ann lived at the family farm and drove 70 miles each way to Boeing Aircraft as a member of the next round of Rosie the Riveters. They moved to Wichita in 1953. After having three children, Vic (Cheryl) Vaughan, Jr., Ginger Bromley and Lonnie (Diane) Vaughan. Ann attended Wichita Professional Beauty College and received her cosmetologist’s license in 1959. She owned “Ann’s Beauty Nook” in her home until closed in 2007. For years Ann had been a devoted Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader and cookie chairman. She was on the board for the Grenola Independent School restoration project and helped plan annual events. Ann was a member of Mt. Vernons United Methodist’s Bell Choir until a disability caused her to withdraw. Ann will be extremely missed by her brothers, children, 6 grandchildren (Shannon, Jeremy, J.D., Marcie, Michael, Caitlin), 7 great-grandsons, 1 great-great grandson, numerous nephews and nieces who loved their sweet sister, mother, grandma FA and aunt. Services are being held at Lakeview on Monday, February 5, visitation with family begins at 2pm, service at 2:30pm. Interment following at Grenola Greenlawn Cemetery, Grenola, KS Memorials can be sent to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, 5701 E. Mt. Vernon, Wichita, 67218 and Grenola Methodist Church, 112 N. Elm Street, Grenola, KS 67346.
