Jackson, Emily B., 91, retired secretary to the manager at the Kansas State Employment Office, joined her heavenly family on February 28, 2015. Emily earned her associated degree from the Christian Workers Department at Friends Bible College in 1947 as well as her secretarial business training from Wichita Business College in 1967. She enjoyed camping, crafts, sewing, cooking, and square dancing. She will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by parents William and Nola Coleman; brother Dewey Coleman; sister Elvera Smith; and grandson Paul Savely. She is survived by husband of 67 years Gilbert Jackson; daughters Carol (Tom) Ambrogio, Patricia Savely and Jolene (Jeff) Martin; sister Laverna Brown; granddaughters Jessica (Josh) Gunkel and Julia (Tim) Smoldt; grandsons Donald Savely and Christopher Vaiuso; and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorials can be made to University Friends Church in lieu of flowers. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1:00 pm at University Friends Meeting, 1840 W. University Ave., Wichita, KS 67213. Memorials are set up with University Friends Meeting, Gentiva Hospice and Alzheimer’s Association.
