Batson, Faye, made a peaceful transition when called home on March 25th. Being generous in spirit, Faye gave much and asked little in return. Born into a family with three brothers and deaf parents in Moundridge, Kansas on May 13, 1919, she quickly learned the lessons of rural life, family values and hard work being its own reward. One of the lessons Faye lovingly shared through the years was; “actions speak louder than words.” In her own quiet way, she demonstrated the wisdom of that phrase repeatedly as she volunteered her talents as an interpreter for the deaf community for over fifty years while lovingly caring for her family as wife, mother, homemaker and business partner. Married for over fifty years, her husband Dale, sons Richard and Linus, granddaughter Heather, brothers George, Chet and Robert preceded her in passing. Faye is survived by sons Craig and David, daughter-in-law Vera, grandchildren Ross, Jana, Allison, Kyle, Chet and many great-grandchildren. Faye’s loving presence continues to live in the hearts and minds of those who were fortunate to know her. A celebration of Faye’s life will be held at 10 am, Saturday, March 29th at Resthaven, West Kellogg at 119th street, Wichita, Kansas. There will also be a viewing from 5-7 pm Friday, March 28th at Resthaven. Memorial has been established with Wichita Area Association of the Deaf, 1646 E Central Ave, Wichita, KS, 67214.
