Frank Earl "Shorty" Barton

Barton, Frank Earl "Shorty", 84, Retired General Parts Manager Diesel Equipment Co/Central Detroit Diesel Allison Inc., departed this life on October 27, 2016. Born December 11, 1931 in Selman, Ok. weighing 2lbs at birth. Married Mary Ellen Fleming on January 4, 1953. Preceded in death by his parents L.O. and Iola Barton, sisters Dorothy, Eva, Ilene, Ione, and Mary Jane. Survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Ellen, sons Mike, (Cheryl), Marcus, (Kristin), and Monte, (Julie). Grandsons, Bryan, (Jenn), Chris, (Shanna), Tyler, and Hunter. Granddaughters, Andrea Daerr, (Mike), Michelle, Alexa, and Lauren. Great-Grandson, Mason Daerr. Great-Grand Daughter Kinsley Daerr. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War and earned numerous medals and honors. He was a proud Mason and a member of the Wichita Lodge #99 and Wichita Scottish Rite 32° Wichita Consistory. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday October 30th at Resthaven Mortuary. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday October 31st at Resthaven Mortuary. May his spirit live on through his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
