Gary E. Trimble, age 89, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Catholic Care Center, Wichita, Kansas. On August 22, 1935, Gary was born in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Ernest W. and Thelma A. (Keeling) Trimble. Gary and his dad were avid fisherman. He spent a lot of time fishing at the family cabin at Toronto Lake. Gary attended Wichita North High School and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, where he received an honorable discharge.
Gary played the guitar all his life and enjoyed listening to country music.
Gary started his career with Metal-Fab Inc., in December of 1971, after 26 years of dedicated service, eventually retiring in December of 1997 as an AA welder and fabricator.
Survivors include his children, Teresa (Ed) Hubbenette and Joe Barker; sisters, Velma (Danny) Rodriguez, Trudy (Fred) Haag; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews that will miss him.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Edna May Barker Trimble and Marion Philpot Trimble; sister, Thelma McKeelin; children, Gary W. Trimble, Paula Poor, Scott Renfro, Larry Barker, Glenda Barker, Jack Barker, and Charles Philpot; a niece, Brandy Rodriguez.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Gospels.
