Mrs. Rethorst, Steve, Mariann and Janette, I am saddened to hear of your loss.  I remember Mr. Rethorst as a quite gentle spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

I am the director of the nonprofit PRoKansas Recycling Center.  For several years, once a week,  George and Joan brought the used corrugated boxes from the Klothes Kloset to our center for recycling. Such a pleasure to have been acquainted.  And now I discover that he was also a member of my Masonic Lodge!  Very, very good man.  My prayers are with his family.

My family and I have known George and his family a lifetime as we went to Zion together for many years.  George was a very kind, and thoughtful man and was loved by everyone who knew him.  We will miss him.  We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers and my god hold you all in his arms during this difficult time. We celebrate George's life with you.  We were always impressed by George's passion for mission, his work with youth, his tenacity when it came to Zion's heating and cooling system.  Our Juli always spoke of George's good spirit whenever we remembered our time at Zion.  May you feel God's powerful presence in these weary days.  We love you all.  Burr & Elsie

We still remember all the volunteer work that George did with my dad, Warren Popp, at Zion Methodist. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

My family is very saddened to hear of his passing.  He was always such a good man.  Please accept our sincere condolences.

George was a wonderfully kind man and a great role model for his kids. I witnessed this first hand being at the church and being around his son Steve and family for many years. I also know that he was a very positive influence on many young people at the church. We are all praying for Joan and entire Rethorst family at this difficult time.

I enjoyed working with George at Boeing and again at the Kansas Aviaton Museum.  George was my friend and I will miss him, as will many others.

May God bless you Joan, Mariann, Steven, and Janette through this difficult time. Your father was an amazing man and we will miss him dearly. I can't believe this is happening to us within a month's time. I know how you are feeling and please call if you need a shoulder. I love you all dearly and have always loved and admired your father, George. I know how happy of a life he lived with you as his family.
