Georgia Chardon Evans

Evans, Georgia Chardon, 92, passed into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Born in Ponce , Puerto Rico , Georgia was the WWII bride of William L. (Bill) Evans, who preceded her in death. She was a devoted wife and mother who was dedicated to making a home for her family as they traveled around the country during her husband’s Air Force career. After retiring from the Air Force, Bill started a new career with the Kansas Employment Service in Wichita . Georgia was able to settle into a life of enjoying her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren in Wichita and visiting her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in Arkansas . She is survived by her daughter Janet L. Baker (Joel) of Wichita, KS; grandson Aaron K. Baker (Debbie) of Towanda, KS; grandson Damon E. Baker (Suzanne) of Wichita, KS; son William L. Evans, Jr. (Liz) of West Helena, AR; grandchildren William L. (Tripp) Evans, III of Belle Vista, AR; DeAnna Oxner (Chris) of Belle Vista, AR; great-grandchildren Hayley, Lindsey, Dillon, Caleb, Aubrey, Brooke, and Evan. Services will be visitation with family on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 2-4pm at Resthaven Mortuary, graveside service in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Wichita , KS on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 11:30am . Memorials in lieu of flowers to Immanuel Baptist Church, Wichita, KS or Gideons International.
