Glenn A. Mertes

He was born in Wichita, Kansas to Cletus (Butch) and Imogene (Jeanie) Mertes on April 24, 1968.

Glenn loved riding his bicycle around town. He enjoyed going to Kansas International Drag Strip and attending car shows. In his spare time he could be found building a model car or tinkering around with bicycles.

He loved his family and friends. He was proud to be an American and loved his country. He was glad he lived long enough to see his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters: Adriana Mertes-Rowland (Zane) and Whitney Bird-Storey (Brandon); son, Derric Mertes; sister, Edna Kaylor-Cox (Ray); brother, Chatman Mertes; and grandchildren: Rodrick P. Rowland, Lliam S. Rowland, and Oakley Storey.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jacqueline Mertes.

A Rosary will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 2:30 PM with a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM and a graveside service following, all at Resthaven Mortuary and Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas, 67209.
