Ms Hazel Levona Poteete

Poteete, Hazel Lavona was born December 8th 1927 in Cushing, Oklahoma to James Forest Matlock and Alta Lorraine (Holderread) Matlock. She lived most of her life in Wichita, Kansas and spent the last 14 years of her life in Lincoln, Nebraska. She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 husbands Ralph Leslie Bally, Grady William Harmon, Clarence Dwaine Strop and Earl Lafayette Poteete, a son Ronnie Lee Bally, step-daughter, Romana Raber, and her only sibling Donald Wayne Matlock. During her time in Lincoln, she resided in the home of her youngest son Grady William Strop, his wife Sandy and their five daughters and one son. She is also survived by one daughter, Charlotte A. Berry, Wichita, two other sons, Merle D. Bally, Alameda, Oakland, CA, and Terry J. Bally, Wichita and three step-daughters, Cheryl Adamson, Cheryl Oppegard, and Brenda Alter all of Wichita. She had 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday morning January 11, 2012. Viewing is Fri. 12 to 8 pm with family receiving friends 6 to 8 pm and funeral services are 1:00 pm Saturday, Jan. 14 at Resthaven Mortuary.
