

Rogers, Helen W. age 88, was born April 26, 1927 during the dust bowl depression, the daughter of Thomas and Hazel Mickey. She survived serious burns at 21 months, and at the tender age of eight, lost her father. Helen attended local schools along with her six siblings, and loved to climb trees to get away and read. She worked for the telephone company during WWII, later managing the Records Department at David’s Department Store, where she worked as a sales clerk. She married Albert Rogers in 1967, and together the couple raised nine children. Helen entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 14, 2015. She is survived by her husband Albert; children Teresa Tucker, Gail Worlein, Edward Winters, all of Wichita, Anita (Michael) Flowers of Mulvane, KS, Naomi Brown of Humbolt, KS, Tom Rogers of Wichita, Debra (Gene) Petree of Moran, KS, Elaine (Arnaldo) Matamoros of Burkburnett, TX, Teresa (Frank) Rash of Colwich, KS, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Helen will be greatly missed by her many family and friends. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday, both at Hillside Funeral Home East, 935 N. Hillside, Wichita. Burial will be at Kechi Cemetery. Memorial to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, Kansas 67202.
