Hilda Lee Schmotzer

Hilda married Edward Schmotzer on June 7, 1970 at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas and they shared 40 beautiful years together. They adopted their daughter, Tai Anmarie Schmotzer from South Korea in November of 1980 at a young age.

She worked as a bank teller for Southwest National Bank for years before becoming a real estate broker and opening Schmotzer Realty. She was a long time Gideons Auxiliary member while supporting Ed in his multiple Gideon roles throughout the state of Kansas. She also was a member of Coffey County Cancer Support Group.

Hilda is survived by her daughter, Tai Anmarie Schmotzer; her sisters: Shirley Watts and Kay (David) Harrison; nephews: Tom (Marilyn) Watts and Shawn (Jamie) Harrison.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Schmotzer; her parents, Bruce and Ivie Keys; her sister, Helen Keys; her nephew: Denis Watts.

A visitation will be held on December 8, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Resthaven Mortuary, located at 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.

The funeral service will follow on the same day, December 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at the same location with a committal service immediately to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in the Garden of Lord's Prayer.
