Irven Colburn Corder

Corder, Irven “Cole,” 63, was born December 7, 1948 in Salida, CO to Irven Lloyd And Letha Vivian Corder. He passed away on December 17, 2011. Cole graduated from Wichita North High and worked for the Wichita Fire Department as a firefighter. Later, he became a Radioman in the U.S. Navy aboard a cruiser. He married Margaret Ann Jones on November 17, 1979 and later divorced. He is survived by one son, Jeffery Scott, of Vancouver, WA; one daughter, Melissa Christine of Lawrence, KS; a step-daughter, Carolyn Annette Bray of Haysville, KS; one brother, James (Joyce) of Burlington, IA and several nieces and nephews. His hobbies were fishing, listening to music, and caring for Little Buddy, a small dog he rescued. He enjoyed visiting with friends at his favorite cafe. He also volunteered for several years as a guide and messenger at Robert J. Dole Veteran’s Hospital in Wichita. Memorial services 2 p.m. Wednesday, Hillside Funeral Home East, 935 N. Hillside.
