Iva Jean “Jeanne” Schmitz, 77, former owner/operator of Elmer’s Steak House passed away on Wed. Oct. 2, 2013. Preceded by her parents Robert and Georgina Sterling, brother Robert Sterling and her loving husband Elmer. Jeanne was active in the Lady’s Club and over 55 luncheons at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
She enjoyed various types of card games, was an avid bird watcher and gardener. Survived by her daughter Dana Brake of Wichita, brothers Victor Sterling of Haysville, Don Sterling of Oklahoma, granddaughters, Haley and Madison Brake and many caring friends.
Rosary, 7pm, Sun. Oct. 6th, Funeral Mass, 10am, Mon. Oct 7th both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton with burial at 2pm at St. Peter Parish Cemetery, Willowdale, KS.
In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
