Jacquelyn A. Phillips, 79, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on May 13, 2026. Born July 27, 1946, Jacquelyn will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude for a life marked by steady devotion to others, quiet strength, and a gracious spirit that made people feel welcome and valued.
From her early years, Jacquelyn showed the diligence and determination that would guide her throughout life. She graduated from East High School and continued her training through Secretarial School, preparing for a working life defined by reliability, care, and loyalty in every role she held.
Jacquelyn built a long and meaningful career, serving at Fidelity Bank, the Coleman Company, and USD 259 Wichita Public Schools. For 19 years, she worked as a payroll clerk—an essential role she carried out with conscientious attention and a sincere desire to support those around her. Her generosity was often expressed not in grand gestures, but in the consistent way she showed up, helped, and made room for others with an open mind and an accepting heart.
In her quieter moments, Jacquelyn found comfort and enjoyment in the simple pleasures she loved most. She delighted in reading Frieda McFadden and cozy mysteries, spent time with color-by-numbers on her phone, and enjoyed watching TV and animal shows—pastimes that reflected her gentle nature and the calm, caring presence she brought to everyday life.
Faith and community were enduring anchors for Jacquelyn. Once a member of St. John's Episcopal church, she carried that lifelong connection with humility and constancy, offering kindness and steadfast loyalty to the people and traditions that mattered to her.
Jacquelyn is survived by her daughter, Michelle R. Phillips; and cousins Jeanette Cole, Amy Brown (Javen), Adam Cole (Amber), Carmen Laura, Case Brown, Cole Brown, Ajay Brown, Wyatt Cole, Dylen Cole, and close cousins.
