Murillo, James, 81, retired teacher and Civil Service Spanish Translator (Ft. Leavenworth), passed away May 18, 2011. James graduated from Pratt High School and received his B.A. from Wichita State and his M.S. degree from Emporia State. After Civil Service retirement he taught ESL for the Saudi Arabia Government as well as Lockheed Martin. James was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 9767. He was preceded in death by parents Marcial & Mary and brothers Lewis, Paul and Feliciano and sister Helen. Survivors include Connie, his wife of 44 years; son Matthew Jacksonville, FL; daughter Maria Christina of Wichita; brother Joe (Margaret) Murillo of Wichita; sisters Ann (Larry) Ramos of Hutchinson, Eva Ornelas and Virginia Goodman both of Wichita; grandchild Aric C. Murillo of Lee’s Summit, MO and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Visitation with family 6-7 p.m Friday followed by a Rosary at Resthaven Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Davita Dialysis of Derby and the American Diabetes Association.
