Mrs. Blankenship was my high school earth space science teacher.  Her teaching methods were the bane of our freshman class (she was the hardest science teacher!) but you really knew the content by the end of the class.  I distinctly remember being particularly annoyed with her interactive notebooks and I dreaded every time they were checked for a grade.

Twenty years later, I followed in her footsteps and have my own high school physical science classroom with interactive notebooks.  Today I thought of Mrs. Blankenship, reflected on how she has impacted my life, and looked her up to find her obituary.  I wish that I could tell her how impactful she has been on my life, and all of the things I took from her teaching methods.  The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see.

She will be missed.

My prayers are with Janice's family.  Janice was a wonderful person who thought of others first.  I remember working with her at Maize Intermediate School and how she cared about individual students.  She also made me feel welcome to Wichita by inviting me to church when I first moved here.  She was a blessing to many students and a great teacher.

Our sincere sympathy for your loss.   Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.  Janice was a real sweet person.  Remember, she's not gone.  She' s just like a rose, blooming on the other side of the fence.

I am deeply saddened with the loss of  another classmate. We enjoyed Janice and Guy's presence at our class reunions.

Sending our deepest sympathy to each of you. We were residents at Hampton Lakes for 3 years, so we were privileged to know Janice.  She was always so pleasant, smiling and friendly.  I remember all 3 of her dogs she loved so much. Janice was very patient waiting on Guy so they could go to dinner!! A very special person!

Janice and I shared many years together at MMS. She was a dedicated teacher and will be missed my many. She was my son's (Andy) 6th grade teacher. He enjoyed her so very much. Roland and I are so sorry for your loss.

I met Janice many years ago in her 6th grade classroom as her student. Then again later when my mother was a para in her classroom.  Finally I had the privilege of working with Janice after I received my teaching degree. She was a wonderful woman who always strived to make her students and the people around her do their best.  I am so glad that I got to call her a friend as well as my teacher.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May God Bless you.
