

Jessie Mae Russell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on November, 22, 2025, at the age of 95. Born July 30, 1930, in Zanoni, Missouri, she was the daughter of Jessie James Shanks and Nola Mae Miller Shanks.
Jessie attended elementary school in Dora, Missouri, and completed high school through adult night classes at Finn Elementary.
In March 1945, she married the love of her life, Glenn A. Russell. Together, they shared 49 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and faith. Jessie was a devoted homemaker who found joy in caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming environment.
A faithful member of Riverview Baptist Church, Jessie lived her life guided by strong Christian values. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, and crocheting winter hats for newborns and those in need—always finding ways to bless others with her talents.
Jessie is survived by her daughters, Judy Gossett and Brenda Balderas; son, Kevin (Nancy) Russell; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Glenn Russell; sons, Glaine Russell and Dwight Russell; and daughter, Novetta Cain.
Jessie’s gentle spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
