Jimmy was born January 1, 1947, in Croweburg, Kansas. He was raised by his Grandmother Grace Porter (deceased), Aunt Mildred (deceased), and Uncle Slim Caldwell (deceased). He was a veteran and served in The United States Army, Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He remained active in the military until he retired.
He is survived by: his wife, Mary; daughter, Debbie (Darin) Bell; grandsons: James (Allyson) Bell with their children, Bradley and Madilyn, Douglas (Diana) Bell with their children, Calliope and Thaddeus, Jacob (Abigail) Bell with their children, Tucker, Leon, Wyatt; and baby girl, Tyler with daughter Sofia.
He is preceded in death by: his twin sister, Gracie Marie and his father, James Porter.
A Visitation with family present will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, KS, 67209. Funeral Service will take place Saturday, July 29, 2023, 1:00 PM at Central Community Church, 6100 W Maple St, Wichita, KS, 67209 with interment to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Love,11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, Ks 67209.
