Joey Lynn Davis was born in Wichita, KS on October 8th, 1961 to Clara Kay and passed away at home on December 14, 2020 at 6:06pm at the age of 59. He was preceded in death by grandparents Clair and Thelma Mohler, and mother Clara Kay Hettenbach. He is survived by father Robert Hettenbach and brothers Doug Hettenbach (Jennifer) and Travis Hettenbach as well as several nieces and nephews. Joey will be laid to rest in Leon, KS near his grandparents.
Joey was a talented, self-taught artist whose artwork was displayed proudly in his own home and the homes of family and friends. They were treasured in gifts, birthday cards, and letters to those he loved. He also transformed his artwork into tattoos onto his own skin and others.
Joey's mechanical aptitude kept him busy for years with various projects for himself and for friends and others in his circle. Working on plenty cars, trucks, motorcycles, and pretty much anything else with an engine was a passion Joey kept until he passed.
Joey had a big personality and a big, unmistakable laugh that would fill a room. He was often either joking with those he loved (or didn't know at all), or having a joke or prank played on him. He belonged to a family of jokesters and pranksters and he gave AND received his fair share of tricks played on him over the years. Joey's life shaped and molded who he was. If you ever met him, you'd instantly know he was unique, loud, funny, ornery, and stubborn. He made a lasting impression on pretty much everyone he met - he's a hard one to forget.
