John Vincent Ferreira

John V. FERREIRA, died in Wichita on September 26, 2021 surrounded by members of his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosaleen; son, John (Aimee) and daughter Treva (Ron). John's grandchildren include Rory Ferreria Jakob Ferreira, Joshua Ferreira and Owen Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Maria Ferreria, his daughter Johnna Ferrera and his grandson, Chase Ward. John was born September 4, 1944 in Rochester, New York. He graduated from Greece Olympia High School in Rochester and attended SUNY-Geneseo to study business. He left college early to enlist in the Air Force to serve his country in the Vietnam War. John served in the Air Force from 1965 to 1969 as a Munitions Specialist. John earned many medals during his service including the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was always proud of his service to his country and also quick to thank others for their faithful service. After receiving his honorable discharge from the service, John settled in Wichita, Kansas and worked as a salesman for Davis Moore. John retired from Davis Moore after 45 years in the car business. He was known for his honesty and integrity in the business by his colleagues and generations of customers. John was known and respected for his love of his family and his contagious sense of humor. John made it a habit to tell his family he loved them every day and was a caring and affectionate husband, father and grandfather. He had a great laugh and was known as jokester to his family members, coworkers and people lucky enough to cross his path! John will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rosary and Burial Mass will be October 5, 2021 at 9:30 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Wichita, Kansa. Free luncheon will follow the funeral mass. Burial with Military Honors will be October 6, 2021 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Winfield.
