John & Dana met in 1983, through the introduction of a co-worker. They married on Jan. 21, 1984 & had many conversations that God brought them together. They were a perfect couple in that John was very social and he helped Dana learn to be more so. He loved to teach and train people. The children always teased that he should have been a teacher. They built a wooden podium to set on the table, to teach. Everyone found it comical, including John. As a father, he helped the kids through the years get their lives in order financially and emotionally.
He began swimming at age 7 and swam through college. He was committed to running, biking and exercise, health permitting.
He was active in each church congregation he attended in every state to which he was relocated by Boeing, including involvement in managing the finance of a congregation building a basketball court, classrooms, bathrooms and showers for city emergency shelter.
John loved and respected his work life and the people he worked with. He held several management positions in Finance, Business Development and Corporate Government Affairs. He began his final assignment as B-52 Program Business Manager in May, 2001. He retired at age sixty-eight but enjoyed his work and went back to his job, 6 months later. His final retirement was at the age of seventy-three. Dana and John had 5 years together without his job, but Dana loved his managing her driving, decorating, etc. Ha.
He will be missed, beyond measure. …
John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dana L. Kegley; daughter, Cassandra (Chad) Cameron; son, Ryan Wilson; grandchildren, Hannah E.N. Wilson and Lilyana R. Carter; mother-in-law, Thelma L.
