Judy’s early life included time in Plainville, Kansas, where the steady values of home and family helped shape the respectful, caring woman she would become.
Over the years, Judy built a strong work ethic and a life of quiet accomplishment. She worked at Lear Jet and Boeing, and she approached her work with the same dependable spirit she brought to every part of her life.
Judy was creative and nurturing, finding joy in arts, crafts, and cooking—especially desserts that became a treasured part of family gatherings. She also had a “green thumb” and loved plants.
Faith and service were central to Judy’s life. She was involved with Church The Ark in Maize, Kansas, and she held a weekly Bible study at Halstead Health and Rehab, offering encouragement, fellowship, and steady compassion.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Roy Ellis Sissel; her mother, Leona Wyoma Cowen Sissel; her brothers, Frank Sissel and David Sissel; her sister, Beverly Sissel Kleinschmidt; and her husband, Richard Bowman.
She is survived by her daughter, Constance Bowman Felkins (Kent); her sons, Bobby Ray Bowman (Yvonne), Chris Bowman (Bonnie), and David Scott Bowman (Jessica); and 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A committal service will be held at 1:00 pm on March 13, 2026, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Love, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
