Julio "Alex" Zuniga, age 49 passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. He was born July 31, 1972 to Alejandro and Belen Zuniga in Guadalupe Victoria, Durango Mexico. Alex was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law, coach and friend who will be dearly missed by many.
Alex came to the U.S. in 1997 from Guadalupe Victoria Mexico. He later met his future Suegra, Cynthia who showed him a picture of her daughter, Andrea. Alex told his future Suegra, "I am going to marry your daughter!". The two were married a short time later, on December 17, 1999, together have shared 22 years of marriage. United they have four children, Jordan, Lauren, Dominic, and Sofia.
He worked for Metal Fab for over 20 plus years, where he made many friends who became like family. Alex coached his son's soccer team, Aztecas for 8 years. He enjoyed family road trips, watching his children play sports, hanging out with his compadres and friends. Most of all Alex loved spending time with his family.
Alex was preceded in death by his mother, Belen Ceniceros-Zuniga. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Andrea Zuniga; children, Jordan Zuniga (Candice Reimer), Lauren Zuniga (Michael Ramirez), Dominic Zuniga, and Sofia Zuniga; father, Alejandro Zuniga; siblings, Silvana (Ivan) Zuniga-Garcia, Ivania (Ivan Herrera) Zuniga, and Jaime Zuniga; granddaughter, Aryella Ramirez; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Rosary for Alex will be 7:00pm, Monday, January 31, 2022, with Mass of Christian Burial being held 10:00am, Tuesday, February 1, 2022, both at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2801 S. Seneca Street, Wichita, Kansas 67217.
Memorial contributions in Alex's memory can be made to the family.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
The family has requested that anyone who attends the services to please wear a mask.
