

Kent (Ken) Blackman, Jr. of Wichita passed away June 30, 2022. He was born September 9, 1973 in Kansas City, Missouri, and lived in Kansas City and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, graduating from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Aviation Technology. He went on to earn his Airframe and Powerplant (A & P) certification in Kansas City.
Ken came to Wichita to work for Learjet, and started work for Textron (Cessna) as a Technical Writer in 2005.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca (Becky) Blackman; his three daughters Madison, Jacqueline, and Lilly Blackman; stepson Blake Bailey; stepdaughter Kaitlin Kowalski, granddaughter Emma Kowalski, all of Wichita; Father and stepmother Kent and Debbie Blackman, Kansas City, Missouri; Mother and stepfather Gloria and William Herman, Jupiter, Florida; Brother William Herman (Kristy); Grandfather John Barrera, Jupiter, Florida; Grandmother Anna Blackman, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held July 13, 2022 at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Kellogg, Wichita, Kansas. Family will greet friends at 6:00pm until the service at 7:00pm. A service will be held at GlenHaven Church, 4301 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, Missouri on July 14, 2022. Family will greet friends from 5:00pm, with a service at 7:00pm . His ashes will be interred at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, Missouri on July 15.
