Lauralee Rosella Kautz

Lauralee Rosella Kautz, the daughter of Lawrence Adelbert and Mariam Agnes Hoag passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born October 6, 1939, in Wichita, Kansas. Lauralee met her husband, Eddie K. Kautz on a blind date that her cousin Ruth arranged and they spent 60 years together until his passing in 2017. Eddie and Lauralee welcomed daughters Rhonda and Rebekah and raised their family in Wichita.

Lauralee spent most of her adult years as a homemaker, she had also worked at Kresge’s as a soda jerk, later she worked at a delicatessen as she loved cooking and baking.

Lauralee set a good example for her daughters by teaching them about beauty care and becoming an entrepreneur selling cosmetics.

She loved her family, loved God, and was a strong yet compassionate woman. She had a love of music, listening to different genres; enjoyed sewing and making dresses for her daughters. Lauralee loved the outdoors; on summer nights, she enjoyed sleeping under the stars with Rhonda and Rebekah. She was a great baker and everyone loved her strawberry and apple cakes. She loved to travel and the family enjoyed many vacations. Her favorite place to go with Eddie was Galveston Texas.

The Salvation Army was a good part of her life growing up, going to camp, playing the trumpet, and being a bell ringer during the seasonal times.

She continued to be a supporter of the Salvation Army throughout her lifetime.

Lauralee is preceded in death by her husband Eddie, granddaughter, Krystal Propp and siblings, Virginia, Alfreda, and Priscilla.

She is survived by her daughters Rhonda Propp and Rebekah Kautz; grandchildren Rachel (Dan) Nicholas, Richard (Shelly) Propp, Justin Casanova, and Ryan (Krista) Casanova; great-grandchildren Taylor, Tyler, Dani, Sierra, Carson, Katie, Ellie, Bryce, Kenadie, Quincy, Lucy, Theo, and Olenna

A visitation for Lauralee will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209 with a graveside service following the service.
