Leon Joseph Setter

Leon J. Setter, 89, decorated veteran of WWII and former POW, technical writer at Boeing and Cessna, Boy Scout leader, and volunteer at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center entered eternal life July 9, 2014. Recitation of the Rosary, 6pm, Fri. July 11th at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial, 1pm, Sat. July 12th at All Saints Catholic Church with military honors and burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Setter was preceded in death by his wife, A. Catherine (Stomp) Setter; parents Albert & Monica (Miller) Setter; daughter Karen Setter; brother Marvin Setter; sisters Geraldine Jarry, Kathleen Ojile and Wanda Elmore. He is survived by children Ron Setter of Colorado Springs, CO; Dr. Ken (Nancy) Setter of Tulsa, OK; Carolyn (Tony) Utter of Wichita, KS; Janis Pherigo of Wichita, KS; Mel (Anne) Setter of Topeka, KS; and Gary Setter of Lawrence, KS. Mr. Setter is also survived by brothers Bob (Fran) Setter of Kirkland, WA and Ralph (Lena) Setter of Edmond, OK; and grandchildren Debbie O’Reilly, Chris (Regina) Utter, Katy (Dustin) Lentz, Andrew (Megan) Setter, Jason Pherigo, Tim (Laura) Utter, Dr. Owen Setter, Ryan Utter, Ellen (Mark) Haukom, Dr. Jeff Setter, Jessica (Seth) Creason, Laura Setter, Tyler Setter, Alex Setter, Claire Setter, Aidan Setter, Caroline Setter; and great-grandchildren Briana Campbell, Dalton Pybus, Shelby Pybus, Isabel Haukom, Jonah Utter, Luke Setter, Eli Utter, Olivia Lentz, Maddox Haukom, Lydia Setter, Miles Lentz, Silas Haukom, Stella Utter, Scarlett Utter.
