Leona May Wiant, 94, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025. Leona was born October 9, 1930 in Winfield, Kansas, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Maricle) Barger.
Leona was united in marriage to Morris Wiant on June 9, 1950 in Wichita, KS.
Leona was an active member at her church, Covenant Presbyterian Church of Wichita. During her free time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening, motorcycle riding, but most importantly spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Harry & Mary Barger; her husband, Morris Wiant; her brothers, Harold, Harvey and Forrest Barger; her son, Joseph "Lenny" Wiant; and her granddaughter, Danielle Wiant.
She is survived by: her daughter, Janice Wiant; her grandchildren, Jolene Wiant, Samantha Maricle - Heaton, and Abigail Wiant; along with her great-grandchildren, Michael Heaton and Margaret Heaton.
Graveside Service will be held 3:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior.
Memorial Service will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1750 North Tyler Road, Wichita, Kansas 67212. Please send all flowers if desired straight to the church as the funeral home is not involved in the memorial service.
