In life we loved you so dearly, in death we do the same. -
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. -
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. -
You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide. -
And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. -
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. -
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. -
Sadly, we lost our loving mother on December 24, 2020.
Lila was born in Stanley County, South Dakota on November 7, 1933.
She passed away peacefully at the Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita, Kansas.
Her contributions in life included her passion for serving as the director of the Sunday School program at Southwest Presbyterian Church for 30 years and many other roles that spanned the 50+ years of her membership there. She will be remembered for the sweetness in her heart, her passion for serving others and her intense love for her family.
Lila is survived by her sons; Don Laham of Laguna Vista, Texas; Brian Laham of Bluffton, South Carolina; and Darren Laham of Wichita, Kansas along with their families that includes many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Eisenbraun and her husband Dal of Tucson, Arizona and their family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Frank F. Laham, Jr and her parents, Donald Van Ness and Alma (Bartels) Van Ness.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone with whom she interacted.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful care and fellowship provided by the Kansas Masonic Home.
In lieu of flowers, help her kindness, loyalty and compassion continue by making a donation in her memory to:
Southwest Presbyterian Church, 1511 W. 27th St. S, Wichita, KS 67217 or
