LuRay A. Watts

Watts, LuRay Annetta, 61, passed away April 14, 2017. She was the only child born to Raymond and Louise (Schmidt) Watts on March 8, 1956 at Coronado Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA. The family moved to Wichita in 1960 where LuRay graduated Goddard High School and Friends University with a BS degree in home economics and secondary education. She is preceded in death by grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, and one cousin. Survivors include Aunt Annetta Amos and cousins. LuRay worked in retail sales, banking, and most recently as tour coordinator at Village Tours and Travel. She was a member of the Wichita Northwest Lions Club and past District Governor of Kansas Lions District 17N. Luray served her church in various positions over the years; singing in the choir, Sunday school teacher, mid-week teacher and treasurer, funeral dinner chairman, Stephen Minister and she served on youth board and Evangelism Commission. Viewing and visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Resthaven Mortuary. Funeral service will be at Ascension Lutheran Church 842 N Tyler on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 2 p.m. and interment following at Greenwood Cemetery 6231 W 47st St S.
