Jean was raised in Enid, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Enid High School in 1958 and Phillips University in 1964 with a B.S. in Education. She taught English in the Enid Public Schools until her marriage to Louis Johansen in 1966. After her marriage, she followed her husband during his tours as a USAF pilot to the Philippines, where she had one son, Peter L. Johansen, Texas and Iceland. Louis and Jean settled in Wichita in 1973 where they spent the remaining years of Jean's life.
She is survived by: her husband, Louis; and her son, Peter.
