Mark "Sputty" E. Garst, age 77, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was born August 18, 1947 in Minneapolis, Kansas to Mark Ellsworth Garst and Eva Evangeline (Jagger) Garst.
Mark met Kathleen at the age of 8 playing house in the mulberry tree.They dated through high school and married on July 15, 1965. They renewed their vows on their 25th wedding anniversary. Together they had 2 children, Mark Anthony Garst and Melinda Kathleen (Garst) Thomas Trusty. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark Ellsworth Garst and Eva Evangeline (Jagger) Garst and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mark enjoyed working for his customers on their campers. He spent a lot of time working with his hands on carpentry in his shop and riding his motorcycle up in the mountains. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors playing and teasing his grandchildren.
Mark is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Garst; his son, Mark Anthony Garst; his daughter, Melinda Kathleen (Garst) Thomas Trusty; 3 sisters; his 11 grandkids and 10 great-grandkids.
A private memorial service will be held at a later.
