

Mary Delight Conner, 93, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, with her daughter Vicki and grandson, Jim, at her side. She was born November 18, 1931, in Copan, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jesse LeRoy and Minnie Elizabeth (O'Neal) Pace, the 7th of 9 children.
After the unexpected death of her mother, Mary was raised by her sister, Edna Pace Hartman in Parsons, Kansas. On January 11, 1950, Mary married Billy Joe Conner in Maricopa, Arizona. After returning to Parsons for a short time, Bill and Mary relocated to Wichita, Kansas where their made their home and raised their children. Bill and Mary were blessed with four children: Billy Joe who sadly died as an infant, Vicki, Gary, and Donald.
Mary had many hobbies and interests. She was an accomplished seamstress and delighted in sewing special dresses for her granddaughters with yards of lace and ruffles. Mary was known for her incredible cooking as everyone looked forward to her Thanksgiving feast of turkey, dressing, homemade noodles and rolls, not to mention the peanut brittle and fudge. Mary always had an amazing garden and spent summers home canning fruits and vegetables. Mary loved reading, playing bridge, exercising, and participating in the ladies Red Hat Club.
Mary found the most joy and happiness in being with her children and grandchildren. She taught them, many things and was an example of kindness and unconditional love, and supported them in their activities and endeavors.
She is preceded in death by: her husband of 68 years, Billy Joe Conner; infant son, Billy Joe Conner; and her grandson, Billy Joe Conner.
She is survived by: her children, Vicki Lynne Conner Dwyer of Denver, Colorado, Gary Lee (Delyn) Conner of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Donald Dean (Myrna) Conner of The Philippines; along with 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM ~ 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025; Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 AM, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Christ with the Children, Wichita.
